So now the day is over (and it only got better!)

Tonight Matt and I went to dinner with some people from ECC, the church we've been going to the last few weeks. Along with other Cantonese specialties, we had "chili crab"--it was pretty tasty, but a little difficult to eat mainly because I made eye contact with the poor crabs before they got cooked and sent to my belly to rest. But considering I've sort of been avoiding eating Chinese food since I moved to China, it wasn't so bad. There was some tasty sweet and sour pork and also some yummy steamed veggies. The most interesting part of the evening (and the part that proves beyond a doubt that God does exist and He's taking care of us here so well) was when we met up with the first couple (I'll refer to them as M. and L.) and got to talking about our jobs. When I mentioned that I was a florist, L.'s eyes lit up and told me her family was in the silk flower export business and she would love some advice on floral displays. That was very exciting to hear and we all marveled about the chances of that. But then later when we met the rest of the group, and I happened to mention that I also worked at a chocolate shop, another couple looked up with surprise and said, "we own a chocolate shop and might need to hire some new help in a few months." For real, people, there is no possible way that in the real world, this combination of people sitting at a table could exist. Perhaps we were all in some sort of chili crab induced coma and we'll all have a good laugh about this when we wake up. God works in mysterious ways, even in Hong Kong.

I can't believe you guys have already replaced us with another church small group! :) Okay, in all seriousness, it's so great to hear stories of what our awesome God is up to in HK! E, do you think you'll eventually be able to work there? I know you initially thought maybe it would be difficult to get a work visa. How great that you already have leads if that ends up being a possibility! Miss you guys!

I am not computer saavy either. I will stare at it for several minutes at a time trying to do something and I just end up getting mad. As far as God moving in mysterious ways I say an AMEN to that-and also how freaky is that. I know it is scary moving to a new town in the USA...I can't imagine moving outside of the US. Looking forward to the next post:)

Hurray for good days! I'm so glad that God is audibly/visually popping up in your every day life. We should all notice those things more often. Mostly I'm just glad that you're happy. You take good care of my big bro there! Love you guys!

Wow that is hilarious, brooklyn has a Singapore Chilli Crab festival but Singapore doesn't have a chilli crab festival. But yeah, it is a pretty popular dish. I don't like it because it is chilli, but everyone loves it. I just like the nice buns that come with!

Wow! I can't believe that you guys are already there and settled. It seems like just a few days ago that I got your e-mail that you were moving. It sounds like (and looks like from your pictures) that you guys are having an amazing time! How fun to travel half-way across the world. And heck, I'm just looking forward to making it to Canada to go skiing this winter! :) Keep in touch!

Chocolate and flower connections at one dinner table?!?!? That's highly impressive. God rocks.
