Some Stats

Peggy Peattie/San Diego Union-Tribune/ZUMA Press

In the San Diego Area:

500,000 people have been evacuated
241,000 acres of land have burned
1,250 homes have been destroyed
Of the 4 main fires, 3 are less than 10% contained

Yikes.

Even though I've never met you, I'm quite concerned about the two of you out there with the fires raging all around you. Please keep us posted more often. And by all means, stay safe and out of harms way, if you can. Remember, no shark nets on that coast line. Mary Ann (In-law's husband's aunt.)

Thanks for keeping us all informed about the scary situation over there. It's hard to believe that things like that are REALLY happening on the opposite side of the country. Please be safe. California is definitely in my prayers these days.

Please keep giving us updates on how you're doing. I'll be thinking and praying for you and everyone else out there.

I'd love see some shots from your window... Can you see the blaze glow at night?
