On the Road Again

The biddy old lady at the gas station register in Boonville, Missouri did not like the looks of us. I don't know if it was my new white plastic superhero glasses and matt's black skinny jeans ("girl jeans" as his little sister calls them), or perhaps it was because we kept buying $1 lottery tickets and losing, or maybe she was peeved that Matt used the women's restroom because the line for the men's room was under siege by a group of geriatrics---Regardless, to her we were "out-off-towners" and she wasn't having it. She had an utter look of disdain strewn on her face from the moment we walked into her little slice of heaven to the moment we waltzed out of her life forever. I'm usually good at charming the locals, but I think maybe I've been gone too long--the big city has gotten in my blood, I suppose. Didn't stop us from heading half a mile down the road to get ourselves a couple of corndogs at Sonic. Now that's what I call a little slice of heaven in Boonville, Mo.

I am glad you are enjoying the cool weather, because we are not! I mean when it snows on Good Friday there is definitely something wrong with the atmosphere!! Though I assume come August we will be craving our winter coats and gloves...nah!

I'm SO glad that your Fat American Food Tour included some corndogs from Sonic...a personal favorite of mine. But I also always get the tater tots, too. MMMMMmmmmm. I miss Sonic. And I miss you.

You were in Boonville and didn't stop in little 'ol Warrensburg for a visit!?!?! If you have time on your way back to KC, let me know and I'll take you to Bill Sharps, home of the world's largest pork tenderloin sandwich (really, it's very, very blog-worthy)!!

Do you win a t-shirt if you eat the entire pork sandwich in one sitting!?!? That would make it even MORE blog-worthy! :)

I think that the biddy old lady just had gas...maybe it was from the pork sandwich at Bill Sharp's or maybe she was wondering if one of you could get her cat out of the tree, as you are now superheros...

Crystal-

Wish we'd had our act together, 'cause we would have loved to meet up with you. I'll be back in town in October--maybe you and I can find a time to hang out with that Pork-T sandwich then.
