It's not even noon yet and we've had such a great day. Matt got to sleep in this morning*, enjoy a leisurely breakfast of Buttermilk Cake with whiskey-laced whipped cream, and read a portion of his very long book undisturbed on the front porch (while Felix and I whiled away an hour or so at Target).
As for fatherly duties, he and Felix made coffee together (a morning ritual), built and destroyed a series of block towers together, and he taught Felix the simple joy of licking the excess cream from the mixing paddles. Yum and yum!
Seriously, Matt, you are amazing. Thanks for ALL you do!
Ok, time to go wrangle the lasagne out of the oven...
*These days "sleeping in" means staying in bed until about 8:30am, at which point Felix can no longer stand it and tears into our bedroom, pouncing on whichever parent has the pleasure of still being in bed. It's glorious!
